Press This is a feature in WordPress that allows users to quickly and easily share content from other websites to their own WordPress website. It is a bookmarklet, a small piece of code that can be saved to a user’s web browser’s bookmarks bar. When clicked, it opens a window with a simplified version of the WordPress editor, pre-populated with the title, text, and images of the webpage the user is currently viewing.
This feature is helpful for bloggers, content creators, or anyone who wants to share a webpage or article from another website with their audience. Instead of manually copying and pasting the content, Press This makes it easy to quickly share it with the appropriate formatting, images, and links.
To use Press This, you first need to enable it on your WordPress website by going to the Tools menu in your WordPress dashboard and selecting “Press This”. Once allowed, you can drag the Press This link to your browser’s bookmarks bar.
When you want to share a webpage, visit the page you want to share, click the Press This bookmarklet, and the Press This window will open. You can edit or add additional information, like tags or categories, and publish the post directly to your website.
In addition to the bookmarklet, Press This also includes a “Press This” button that can be added to a website. This allows users to share content from the website directly to their own website with a single click.
