Create A Static Front Page | WordPress

This article will guide you through creating a static front page in WordPress. A static front page is a fixed webpage that serves as the homepage of your website. Unlike a dynamic homepage that displays the latest posts, a static front page provides specific content that remains unchanged unless you manually update it.

What is a Static Front Page?

By default, WordPress displays your latest posts on the homepage. However, you can create a static front page to showcase specific content, such as an introduction, featured products, or a landing page. This gives you more control over the content and layout of your website’s homepage.

How to Create a Static Front Page?

To create a static front page in WordPress, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Go to “Pages” and click “Add New” to create a new page.
  3. Enter a title for your static front page, such as “Home” or “Welcome.”
  4. Add the desired content to your static front page. You can use the block editor to create visually appealing layouts with various elements like text, images, videos, and more.
  5. Once you have finished adding content to your static front page, click “Publish” to save the changes.
  6. Next, go to “Settings” and “Reading” in the admin menu.
  7. In the “Your homepage displays” section, select the “A static page” option.
  8. Choose the page you created as the “Homepage.” This will set it as your static front page.
  9. Optionally, you can select a separate page for your blog posts under the “Posts page” dropdown. This will be the page where your blog posts are displayed.
  10. Click on “Save Changes” to apply the settings.

Visitors who access your website will see the content you added to the static front page as the homepage.

Note: If you want to make further changes to your static front page, you can edit the page by going to “Pages” in the admin dashboard and selecting the page you created. Remember to click on “Update” after making any modifications.

Creating a static front page allows you to customize visitors’ first impressions of your website. It enables you to highlight specific information, products, or promotions, providing a tailored experience to your audience.
