What Is Google Dance?

google-dance-1

The phrase “Google Dance” was invented to characterize the enormous changes in rank that used to take place in the past whenever Google would update its ranking algorithm once every month. But, the rank fluctuations are generally less spectacular since Google started performing much more minor algorithm tweaks daily. Because of this, the phrase “Google Dance” is no longer often used in search engine optimization (SEO) business.

Google Dance

This term describes how internet pages go up or down in rank due to Google changing its rankings and reevaluating sites. But there is another name for Google Dance: the “random ranking factor.”

It is usual to expect changes in Google’s SERPs after making modifications or additions to a website. But, Google Dance may often produce fluctuations, even when no other significant change exists.

These changes are typical and should not give rise to any sense of alarm. But, suppose you attempt to fiddle with your website because of a slight variation in your Google Dance score. In that case, you run the risk of making matters worse and having a negative influence on your ranking on Google.

Where did the idea for Google Dance originate?

When significant indexing changes to the Google search engine were being deployed was once referred to as the “Google Dance.” This substantial change to the Google index occurred around 36 days or ten times yearly.

It was simplest to identify by seeing significant changes in search results and an update in Google’s cache of all sites that had been indexed. From one minute to the next, these shifts would become immediately noticeable. But, the update did not continue as a switch was flipped from one index to another as a standard switch. Finishing the comprehensive update to the index required a few days’ worth of work.

Updates are a significant challenge for Google and other search engines since the satisfaction of its users relies on their ability to provide authoritative and accurate results around the clock, seven days a week.

They cannot do maintenance because they don’t have the necessary funds and cannot afford to be offline for one minute. Every search engine will go through it, albeit some will do so more often than others, like Google.

Final Words

Google Dance is significant because it has the potential to change where your website is ranked, which might result in a greater or lesser amount of traffic to your page from organic searches conducted on Google. The essential thing to remember about Google Dance is that the changes are usually temporary. When Google is re-reading, and re-ranking pages, your website’s position in Google search results may fluctuate somewhat.
