From Freelancing to Product Pioneer

Brian’s journey began in 2008 when he left full-time employment to pursue freelancing and entrepreneurship. Always looking for ways to move beyond trading time for money, Brian experimented with different online ventures before launching his first major success Restaurant Engine in 2011.

Restaurant Engine provided ready-made websites for restaurants and became an early example of the productized service model, inspiring countless founders including the early days of Seahawk Media.

Building & Selling Online Ventures

After Restaurant Engine, Brian went on to build and sell several successful companies:

  • Audience Ops – a content marketing service, later acquired in 2021.
  • ProcessKit – a tool for automating team workflows.
  • ZipMessage – an async messaging platform for client communication.

Each venture reflected Brian’s ability to spot inefficiencies and create repeatable solutions that scaled. His philosophy of “productizing services” became a framework adopted by entrepreneurs around the world.

ClarityFlow & Instrumental Products

Today, Brian runs ClarityFlow, a client communication platform, and Instrumental Products, where he develops SaaS and AI tools that help businesses launch faster and operate more efficiently.

His latest projects include:

  • Agent OS – an AI-powered operating system for agents.
  • Builder Methods – a resource for developers building SaaS products.
  • NewsletterLab.ai – an AI tool for creating and managing newsletters.
