No more excuses: It’s time for real action. It’s a special edition today! Every year on March 8th, the world celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD). The day promotes gender equality and honors the accomplishments of women. IWD has a new theme every year, and this year’s is “Accelerate Action.”
We are honoring the achievements of all women, particularly those who are engaged in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and computing) disciplines, where they work, learn, and inspire others. We are honoring individuals who succeed and work hard to fit in with technology, those who empower others, and those who don’t hesitate to speak up even when others tell them they can’t. We are honoring women writers and women in technology.
Accelerate Action is about adopting bold and transformative actions to create a more just and equitable world for all genders, and it is a call to action for everyone to take action and do their part to achieve gender equality.
